What’s the difference between a plumber and a gas engineer?
Can Fixlan help with gas-related emergency repairs like boilers, gas cookers and central heating?
Yes we can, we have gas safe registered engineers on our team
They have a NVQ Level 3 Certificate in Gas Installation and Maintenance
What does “Gas Safe” mean?
As a customer, if your engineer or plumber is Gas Safe registered then you know that they are competent to work safely with gas
You also know that they are legally permitted to do so. This is important as carbon monoxide poisoning, faulty central heating systems and boiler installations kill many people each year.
Can someone be both a plumber AND a gas engineer at the same time?
Yes, as long as they are gas safe registered, they can handle gas-related repairs too
For plumbing, technically no qualification is needed but it’s preferable if they have at least a level 2 Plumbing NVQ
So overall, if a person had all of the following:
-Level 2 Plumbing NVQ
-Level 3 Certificate in Gas Installation and Maintenance NVQ
-Gas Safe Registered ID card
-Public liability insurance
They would be able to legally handle BOTH plumbing and gas repairs
